Responsibilities
My main responsibilities in coaching included instructing and leading training daily for each of the team's training sessions. I also had to educate and correct the technique of everyone in the training sessions. A few more responsibilities in the internship included things like cleaning and maintaining a clean facility. As well as conducting sales calls with potential members. The last main responsibility that came to mind was assessing and processing the inventory of sales products on a biweekly basis.
Accomplishments
I think my greatest accomplishment would be that I made an entire mobility program from the ground up and was given full freedom with it. Working closely with the owners of Krave, they were looking into adding another program to their current programs. They asked me to take on this task, and I spent around 3 weeks working on everything from the structure and exercises of the program to the pricing and pay structure. It was probably the most rewarding project that I had in my internship.
Learning experience
I learned that the smallest things said to clients can go a long way. I had great relationships with all of my clients, and many of those relationships were built on a simple questioow was that concert this weekend?" Showing that you care about your clients' lives will go much further than your actual ability to coach and correct technique.
What advice would you give?
I would tell future students to try and intern, shadow, and work at as many different places as possible. It will give you the best idea of what you like and what you don't like. You won't know for sure what you are in for until you are actually in it, so try it out while the necessary commitment is low.
