Responsibilities

My and filing as a summer camp counselor ranged from leading lesson plans to a small group of cam[pers changing age responsibilities occasionally to assisting with my cabin at the overnight camp daily cohorts with their needs and assisting maintaining and cleanness of both camps. As well as ensuring that needs were met of my campers organization out both behavioral and medical reports. With both camps I also helped to ensure that campers were being safe and as well as having fun at camp.

Accomplishments

I think my greatest accomplishment was building those your with kids especially some of the tougher ones that maybe don't listen as much. It was cool to get my aha experience with them as I got to know them better and understand how I can better support them and getting to build that relationship.

Learning experience

Some of my greatest lessons I've learned were things can change really fast and yes it's important to to adapt change but sometimes it depends on so many things and that is ok. Another lesson i've learned is sometimes it's good to always take a step back and seek support where you need it the most. Whenever I felt like I was struggling too hard I always reached out to my admin staff who were able to offer that guidance & support.

What advice would you give?

My biggest advice is always try to be in a place where your admin or leadership is supportive of you and is willing to be there to guide you and being present. This can help you grow both personally and professionally with having a supportive team because tough times will happen one way or another so it's important to have people in your corner.
