Start Making a Difference Through Research
If you want to change the world through research, the college of Health and Human Sciences is a great place to start. Our faculty are helping people with Parkinson’s have a better quality of live through movement and singing, assessing a national walking program to prevent falls, and tackling childhood obesity. The best part? They want you on their team! When we say you get a hands-on education, we mean it. Research teams routinely involve undergraduate students, giving you experience early in your academic career.
Nutritional Science
Nutritional science examines the connection between diet and health and how diet can play a crucial role in the cause, treatment, and prevention of many diseases. Students who major in Nutritional Science can select the pre-health professional and research option and learn how diet can play a crucial role in the cause, treatment, and prevention of many diseases.
Kinesiology and Health
If you’re interested in the science of movement – including how the brain, heart and vascular system respond to exercise – Kinesiology and Health might be for you.
Community and public health professionals work in public, private, non-profit health agencies, and government health programs. They design, promote, and carry out strategies that help prevent illness and encourage healthy lifestyles.
Another pathway within Kinesiology and Health is Exercise Science. The option allows you to specialize in the scientific study of how the body responds and adapts to various types of exercise.
