Iowa State University Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for LeBaron Hall Replacement and Human Sciences Complex Renovation

Iowa State University celebrated the groundbreaking of the LeBaron Hall Replacement and Human Sciences Complex Renovation project for the College of Health and Human Sciences on April 18. Renderings were showcased for the first time at the event and future projects in the Human Sciences Complex were shared.

LeBaron Hall to be Replaced, Opens 2026

LeBaron Hall will be replaced with a new, state-of-the-art building projected to open in 2026. A new textile sciences research hub is being constructed in the adjacent Human Nutritional Sciences Building (HNSB). And, a study is underway to relocate the Joan Bice Underwood Tearoom to the first floor of HNSB. The entire project would create a human sciences complex that anchors the northwest corner of central campus.
