Responsibilities

The responsibilities I have as an intern with White Willow Events this summer range greatly. Some days I will be in charge of setting up and making an event look perfect, tearing down events or assisting at coordinating weddings which include, taking care of the bride and groom, helping vendors do their duties, answering all inquiries, making sure things stick to a timeline, and more! I am also in charge of lifting heavy pieces for all events.

Accomplishments

So far as intern, I have tested my creativity, professionalism, and my work ethic. I have exceeded all of these. I never knew how good I was at these tasks until the team has started to depend on me greatly for their needs. My greatest accomplishment was seeing that my intern advisor at White Willow Events ranked me as excellent in all categories for the midterm evaluation!

Learning experience

I have learned so much this summer. But one of the greatest lessons was the need to think on my feet and be creative when something doesn't go as planned. I never knew how fast decisions need to be made while coordinating events.

What advice would you give?

As a current Event Management Major, I have learned many lessons that I could teach or prepare to incoming event students. My biggest advice would be, If you enjoy weekends to yourself, then this is not the career for you.
