Responsibilities

The Student Answer Center, located on the ground floor of Beardshear Hall, is a one-stop resource for individuals with questions about Iowa State University. Student Answer Center employees provide friendly customer service and assistance to students, families, faculty, staff, and visitors of Iowa State University. The Student Answer Center works in close conjunction with multiple offices across campus to provide assistance with basic inquiries. The Verification Unit of the Office of Student Financial Aid is responsible for the review of confidential documents as part of the FAFSA verification process. Verification student employees are responsible for initial review of documentation and electronic communication with students and families who have outstanding issues to resolve. Applicants must be reliable, customer service oriented and self-motivated. Students who have developed a diverse set of experiences while at Iowa State University and feel that they can provide a unique perspective about the campus and its resources are highly encouraged to apply. Attention to detail is necessary for accurate data entry. Applicants must be work-study eligible for the 2019-2020 academic year and able to work at least 20 hours per week during summer 2019.

Accomplishments

Being able to have both office experience and experience in my field is invaluable for my career. Being able to learn the inner workings of the financial aid process as well as being able to review documents from all backgrounds has given me a broad perspective.

Take charge of your own training. Speak up when you want to learn something new or have questions.
