Responsibilities

As an Innovation and Design Intern, I assisted the I&D team with preparing and wrapping customer samples. This consisted of locating the ingredients, assembling the product according to the assembly instructions, and packaging the food. I also helped prepare for customer presentations and workshops. In addition, I completed the assigned project during the internship.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment during this internship was completing the project. I feel I learned so much about product development. I also feel that I improved my culinary skills while working in the test kitchen.

Learning experience

The greatest lesson that I learned from this experience was the importance of asking questions. Asking questions helped me learn more about product development and working in the test kitchen. I feel it is best to ask questions to clarify anytime there is uncertainty so that the task is completed correctly and to learn more about the product development.

What advice would you give?

My advice for future students would be to get involved in student clubs and organizations. I joined the Culinary Science club my Freshman year and I learned so much about my major and about career opportunities. In addition, I have made connections with others which has greatly added to my experience.
