Responsibilities

My responsibilities during this internship included prospecting apparel brands, building a qualified pipeline by using email, social media, networking, cold calling, and any other means of generating interest from potential clients. I worked with the whole team to support brand onboarding on the dhakai.com platform.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment during my internship experience was all of the networking I did. I was able to use multiple platforms to create connections within the apparel industry. I am excited as I move forward because I feel like these connections could be very beneficial.

Learning experience

The greatest lessons that I have learned from my internship experience have been how to be independent and plan out your day in a way that will help you be successful. There is a lot of needing to hold yourself accountable, so you have to find what works best for you. I also learned how to use multiple new software platforms efficiently.

What advice would you give?

I would advise future students within the AMD major to keep an open mind as to what your future career could look like. Our industry includes a plethora of job types and opportunities. Always welcome new opportunities even if it didn't fit your original description of what a career in fashion would be.
