Responsibilities

My role was working as a kids club program assistant. Each week, I went to go to different kids club sites before and after school. This consists of supervising and interacting with a large group of children, implementing planned activities, summer planning, and assisting with various recreational activities. I also attended meetings and interviews throughout my internship.

Accomplishments

I believe my greatest accomplishment was being left in charge of opening the kids club site multiple times at the end of the semester. Being given that much trust is something that I think is a huge accomplishment to receive by the end of the semester. In addition, I was given multiple opportunities to create and plan activities for the children. I think it is so rewarding to see how the much the children learn from them.

Learning experience

I have learned many lessons and gained some important and valuable set of abilities from my internship experience. I have learned how to communicate professionally and effectively, develop a patient and positive attitude when trying to accomplish tasks or disagreements, and have the ability to analyze a problem and then respond constructively. In addition, I have learned the ability to see a different way in doing things, having the willingness to take risks or experiment, and expressing myself more clearly. All of these have helped me improve my interaction with children and the staff greatly.
