Responsibilities

During my internship, I had the opportunity to assist with a variety of gym events, including charity events and powerlifting meets. I was involved in the daily operations of the gym and played an active role in the EGC (Everyone Gets a Chance) program, which focused on training underprivileged kids. Additionally, I worked with my own personal clients and collaborated with the head personal trainer, Matt, on developing workout programs for the gym.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment is helping the people I coach achieve their personal records. The kids I trained were able to hit new PRs on multiple exercises during their max-out day, and I successfully coached OneUp Gym members to achieve their PRs during competitions.

Learning experience

The greatest lesson I learned was the importance of patience in all experiences. Working with high schoolers, I saw firsthand how quickly they can become frustrated and give up. However, by fostering a patient mindset, I was able to guide them towards better outcomes in the end.

What advice would you give?

My advice for future students is to stay open-minded and flexible in everything you do. Your path will constantly evolve, so don't become too fixated on a single outcome or goal. Embrace change and be willing to adapt as you grow.
