Responsibilities

My responsibilities consisted of daily input documentation in a platform called SetWorks. I documented the therapy goals and clinical events from the prior day. I signed off on SetWorks weekly. I was in charge of classroom observations, bus transitions, and minor projects.

Accomplishments

I was able to complete minor projects that helped with the success of the classrooms. This consisted of staff spotlights, crafts, time/in out sheets for toys, qr code wish lists, summer calender, etc. I also helped out in the medical childcare room quite a bit and really enjoyed communicating and playing with those children and learning more about their diagnosis.

Learning experience

Every day will look different! Some days I didn't have much to do, while others were jam packed. I learned to speak up and ask to help or be involved in more opportunities than I was. This then lead to more confidence in my abilities and also made me realize sometimes you might have to take the lead on furthering your learning.

What advice would you give?

-Don’t be afraid to ask for clarification on a project assigned. I think early on I was afraid to do this because I wanted to figure it out myself and not bother anyone. But my supervisors appreciated the questions because they knew I was going to complete it the right way. -Sometimes you may not have much to do on a day. So asking your supervisors if you could learn a new skill, step into a classroom that you enjoy being in etc. can help you use time wisely to keep growing and learning.
