Responsibilities

During my internships I responsible for reporting on trends for current and upcoming season and product performance to implement new merchandising strategies. I also was in charge visual merchandising producing aesthetically pleasing displays in store and in window displays. I had the chance to an experiential retail events to expand customer base and brand awareness.

Accomplishments

During my internship experience I got the chance to learn how a small business operates. In my past work experiences I worked for a large company that lacked the small business operation and customer service focused experience. With the customer based focus, I was able to put together an event in the boutique as a customer appreciation night. There were refreshments, raffles, and special discounts.

Learning experience

A lesson I learned from my experience was learning how to effectively communicate with my supervisors and other employees. Figuring out what role I fit within the boutique was very important.

What advice would you give?

During your internship experience make sure to ask questions if you have them and take in as much information as you can. Your internship is what you make it!
