Responsibilities

For my internship I work for an after school program. The age group that I work with is K-2nd grade. I help the lead teacher plan out the day and various activities that the kids will do. I also work in the office and help out when ever I can.

Accomplishments

Before doing this internship I didn't think that I wanted to work with children as much but now I have grown very comfortable when working with kids through this internship. I would say that my greatest accomplishment would be that I am very confident when working with children. I am able to handle different situations and behaviors that children can have sometimes.

What advice would you give?

The advice that I have for other students would be, don't be afraid to take a chance when it comes to your internship even when you think you might not be fully interested with a certain population, you never know you could end up loving it!
