Responsibilities
During my internship for Valley Baseball, I had a variety of responsibilities. These responsibilities included field and concession stands management, keeping score and statistics every game, check-in of umpires and opposing teams, and anything else required of me on any given day.
Accomplishments
The greatest accomplishment I had during my internship experience was gaining the trust of my supervisors as a lot of my job was working with little to no help and supervision. It felt good to have to take charge and do things without the advice of others and learn as I go.
Learning experience
One of the greatest lessons I have learned from this experience is to always introduce yourself to new people, give out a helping hand, and try to make your presence known as a good person and worker as much as possible. You never know if the person you help out is the person who could be your next employer or could connect you with them.
What advice would you give?
The advice that I would give to future students in my major is to remove the word "no" from your vocabulary when it comes to taking opportunities in this field. I have learned that although building your resume is important, it is more important to build connections because many times the person with the better resume will get passed up on for someone that the employers know personally.
