Responsibilities

During my internship at Twigs, I had many responsibilities. My title was merchandising/styling intern. The main task I had was assisting the lead merchandiser of the store. I would track sales of the items sold to see what was selling well and what was not. I would also assist the head stylist. I would help her with her clients and understand the process of styling.

Accomplishments

I think the greatest accomplishment I made was the relationships I built during my internship. I got to grow close and learn from many of my colleges. They made my experience very special and I hope to stay in touch with them in the future.

Learning experience

The greatest lesson I learned was communication. I have not always been the best with communication but it is extremely important when working within a business. During my internship, not everything went the way that I was expecting. However, it was very important for me to learn on how to communicate to gain the things that were promised to me during my internship. Although it can be intimidating, it is very important to stand up for yourself and ask for the experiences you need to succeed in the future.

What advice would you give?

The biggest advice I have is to be very open to any opportunity. The internship I had during the summer was not my first choice and at first I was a little defeated about it. However, I took this opportunity and I have learned many different things. I am very thankful for the experiences I had and I am excited for the future it may lead me too.
