This summer, I have been in charge of recruiting, scheduling, and communicating with ISU exhibit volunteers. This also includes creating spreadsheets, memos, and nametags to keep everything organized. I have also been working with a licensed vendor to order and purchase t-shirts for the fair. I will also be helping with managing the exhibit during the Iowa State Fair!
One of my greatest accomplishments at my internship has been being able to stay ahead of deadlines. Being able to keep up with deadlines and not falling behind is very important. I have been able to make some amazing connections with people from Iowa State as well as outside of Iowa State.
One of the biggest lessons that I have learned is time management. Sometimes it can be hard to find a work-life balance during an internship, but finding time to be with your friends and do something fun is very important!
What advice would you give?
Keeping an open mind when looking for an internship is very important. However, ensuring an internship is ticking all of your boxes is important!
