Responsibilities

My responsibilities for this internship was to prep and cook the appetizers. I would also serve drinks, prep and serve food for events and bartend. I would both cook for the rooftop venue along with serving drinks to customers.

Accomplishments

During my internship the greatest accomplishment was being able to cater a whole party by myself. I had to prep appetizer boards along with drinks and area placements. This allowed me to work independently and focus on how and what would be the most ideal to do and in which order.

Learning experience

The greatest lesson I learned was being okay with making mistakes. In the fast paced job that is food service mistakes are going to happen and that's okay you just have to handle how to fix it. Mistakes are gonna happen and it's okay!

What advice would you give?

For future students, get out of your comfort zone, the world of food science is a huge fields with many kinds of niches that will fit your special interests, you just have to find them!
