Spring 2026 Visit Day: April 27

If you’ve ever considered coming to Iowa State for fashion, event or hospitality, you don’t want to miss this special visit day! You’ll follow the Experience Iowa State schedule to give you an overview of life at Iowa State. Then, you’ll do a deep dive into the major your interested in by having lunch with faculty, meeting with an advisor, and attending two sessions related to your major.

Event Management

  • Lunch: Have lunch with faculty and current students from the event management program
  • Advising: You’ll also meet with an academic advisor in the program
  • Afternoon Session 1: From Classroom to Career: Internships in Fashion Design and Merchandising, Event Management & Hospitality Management – Discover what internship opportunities look like across fashion design and merchandising, event management, and hospitality management. This session highlights the companies, locations, experiences, and skills that shape successful internships in these industries. Learn how the internship landscape works, what employers are seeking, and how to identify the roles that align with your interests and career goals. (0023 MacKay Hall, 12:05 p.m. to 12:50 p.m.)
  • Afternoon Session 2:  Design the Future of Events: Technology, Innovation & Experience – Step inside the Event Technology & Innovation Lab (ETIL) and experience how next-generation events are designed and produced. Explore professional sound and lighting systems, immersive multimedia tools, and cutting-edge event technologies that power concerts, conferences, esports tournaments, and live productions. Discover how Event Management students gain hands-on experience with industry-level equipment and how technology is transforming the future of events. (0011 MacKay Hall, 1:10 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.)

Fashion Design and Merchandising

  • Lunch: Have lunch with faculty and current students in the Fashion Design and Merchandising Program
  • Advising: You’ll also meet with an academic advisor in the program

This session walks you through the key steps—from identifying a market opportunity to building a brand concept—so you can see what it really takes to become a fashion entrepreneur. (1118 Student Innovation Center, 1:10 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.)

Hospitality Management

  • Lunch: Have lunch with faculty and current students from the hospitality management program
  • Advising: You’ll also meet with an academic advisor in the program
