College of Health and Human Sciences International Programs Scholarships

Full-time students majoring in an area of study within the College of Health and Human Sciences who are participating in any Iowa State study abroad program are eligible to apply for College of Health and Human Sciences International Scholarships. Scholarships may vary in amount but range from approximately $500 – $1000.

Students who are awarded a CHS International Scholarship are required to complete an International Connections reflection and send 8 to 10 photos to CHS International Programs for future promotional purposes within 30 days of returning from their study abroad program. If students do not complete their International Connections, the scholarship can be revoked. Scholarships may also be revoked if a recipient is unable to attend the study abroad program.

Application Criteria and Selection Process

You must meet the following criteria to be eligible to receive a study abroad scholarship from the College of Health and Human Sciences:

  • Primary major in the College of Health and Human Sciences
  • There is no minimum GPA requirement for consideration
  • Have an application in ISUAbroad for a study abroad program
  • Internship programs are not eligible, except for the dietetics internships in Ghana or France and international student teaching

The application essays will be reviewed by the College of Health and Human Sciences International Programs Committee. The average scores of the essays, along with GPA, financial need, study abroad program, and previous abroad experience will be used to determine recipients.
