Responsibilities

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment was increasing Eddie Bauer's customer loyalty. Eddie Bauer has been a long-lasting and respected company so it can be hard to find customers that don't already have our Eddie Bauer loyalty. When completing a sales transaction I always ask if they have loyalty with us and if they don't, I ask if they would like to become a part of our rewards program. Our rewards/loyalty program consists of customers purchasing products and earning points that build up to receiving rewards such as $10.00 off or 20% off their entire purchase. By increasing the brand and customer loyalty, it encourages customers to continue shopping with us and it's a great feeling knowing I was improving the customer's experience and the Eddie Bauer brand.

Learning experience

Some of my greatest lessons learned at my internship were how to manage my time and the importance of having good interpersonal skills. The store had slower customer traffic so I had a lot of time on my hands during my shifts. To manage my time, I would have tasks or projects given to me such as refolding and organizing the floor for excellent floor representation, restocked and replenished key items to help support sales revenue, completed online ship-from-store orders, and much more. I also learned the importance of having strong interpersonal and communication skills with customers. With working in the store, communication is key, it is important to greet the customer, ask them questions, and assist them with shopping. When working the floor I want to make sure I am giving the customer an enjoyable and seamless shopping experience, making sure they find the products they are looking for and not leave empty handed.

What advice would you give?

My future advice to student in my major is to always be passionate about what you love and enjoying doing it, these four years fly by and looking back there are certain things I wish I had done or done differently. Get involved with clubs that relate to your major and your interests, it is a great way t meet new people and build relationships. With that being said, make good connections and relationships with your teachers and advisors, they are there to help you and want you to succeed, so never be afraid to email or ask questions. Lastly, enjoy all of it and soak it all up like a sponge, what you learn will stay and follow you the rest of your life, it's the best four years of your life!
