Responsibilities

As a Volunteer and Nursery Coordinator, I am responsible for the management of the Nursery program three-four times a week, as well as working with community members to coordinate public events. I am responsible for connecting families, individuals, and kids in a healthy way to promote spiritual and emotional health.

Accomplishments

So far, my greatest accomplishment has been the Trunk or Treat family event. Organizing sign-ups electronically and physically, working with families to run the event, kids to volunteer, as well as promotion of the event through some PR and Marketing practice has been extremely fun for me to do. I love that I get to be creative and I am able to help people have an enjoyable experience. The event is tomorrow so I'm hopeful it will be a positive outcome.

What advice would you give?

Future students need to not be too afraid to take risks. This is the best time for you to learn the profession and challenge yourself. You'll only get better if you allow yourself to be vulnerable. Also, make the job your own. There is really no "rule" book on how to conduct your role besides basic foundational skills. Use your unique skills to make the job the best it can be.
