Responsibilities

My internship came with many fun and challenging responsibilities. My main responsibility was taking scheduling COVID-19 Vaccine appointments for community members. I was tasked with reaching out to different healthcare providers and set up appointments for anyone who wanted to receive the vaccine. I was also tasked with helping the director of public health with the yearly CHNA/HIP reports.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment was working with the clinic providers at the hospital on how to successfully run a vaccine clinic. Organizing the event, space, workers, and how many people to vaccinate was a rewarding challenge.

Learning experience

I had such an amazing experience interning with Plymouth county public health. Public health as a field is a lot more important than I initially realized. Being the leader for each county when it relates to anything COVID related has opened my eyes to the amount of work each county does in public health.

What advice would you give?

Be open to facing new challenges! Having an open mind to new things will allow you to have a broader perspective when a new situation occurs.
