About me: Hey everyone! My name is Himani Mondal, and I am a sophomore majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences Education and Studies and minoring in Leadership Studies. I am from Apple Valley, Minnesota, which is about a 15-minute drive from the Mall of America. When I am not doing schoolwork, I can be found hanging out with friends, playing my flute, listening to music, or doing something for FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America). One thing that I love about Iowa State is the opportunities here! There is so much you can do, and it can help you gain professional connections, skills, friends, and so much more! I am very excited to meet all of you and help you through your first year at Iowa State!

Major: Early Childhood Education

About me: Hi, my name is Celia, and I am from Maple Grove, Minnesota! I am a sophomore majoring in Early Childhood Education, and I am passionate about teaching and childcare. Here on campus, I’m involved in the CHHS ambassador program, tutoring through America Reads/America Counts, serving as president of our First Year Council, and a couple of other things. Outside of school, I like to read, go to concerts, and really do anything outside! I also love to cheer on our Iowa State sports teams. Go Cyclones!

Major: Human Development and Family Studies and Communications Studies Double Degree with a minor in Music

About me: Hi! My name is Tempe Borey. I am a junior double-majoring in Human Development and Family Studies and Communication with a minor in music. I am also an RA in Freddy Court. I spend my time at Iowa State in the music building singing with Cantamus, playing various intramural sports, writing for the Iowa State Daily, reading books, spending time with friends, shopping at TJ Maxx, and taking walks around campus. I’m from Des Moines, IA, and grew up as an Iowa State fan. I love learning about all things Iowa State, especially the history around campus. If you see me around, say hi!
McKenna Menczywor
Class: Junior
Major: Human Development and Family Studies (Pre-Occupational Therapy) with a minor in Psychology
Hometown: DeWitt, Iowa
About me: Hi everyone! My name is McKenna Menczywor, and I’m a junior majoring in Human Development and Family Studies on the Pre-Occupational Therapy track, with a minor in Psychology. I’m from Mt. Prospect, Illinois, about 30 minutes outside of Chicago. In my free time, I enjoy working out, grabbing Starbucks with friends, binge-watching shows, and trying new things. I’m involved in several organizations on campus, including the Pre-OT Club and Letters of Love, and I’m also a member of Delta Zeta, Order of Omega, and Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Fraternity. I love the wide range of opportunities Iowa State offers and the community’s warmth. There are so many great spots on campus to study, meet up with friends, or just go for a walk. I’m so excited to meet you all!
